About

Welcome to Ominous Turkey Wargaming

This is a blog about all aspects of miniature wargaming from rules, to painting and modelling, to lore and background. I play Warhammer Age of Sigmar and 40k, and various historical games focusing on ancient warfare, WW2, and the American War of Independence.

I’ve been playing miniature wargames since 2017, when I discovered Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40k, but I’ve been building and painting models for most of my life. I started with scale model aircraft which my Grandpa helped me build on family holidays. Once I was able to build and paint them myself, I soon became interested in tanks as well, mostly from World War Two, and also built the occasional Warhammer miniature, historical figure or dinosaur diorama.

Since discovering Civilization II and Age of Empires II many years ago I have also been a fan of PC-based wargames, especially Total WarTotal War: Warhammer inspired me to step into a Games Workshop store, buy myself a Zombie Dragon (the top image on the left), and bring these interests together through miniature wargaming. For someone like me who has always enjoyed creating imaginary worlds and learning about history, wargaming is the perfect hobby and has become my main passion. This blog is for sharing that inspiration.

This site exists for sharing my love of the hobby; I am not affiliated with any of the companies whose products I discuss, and all views expressed are my own.
